Shining the spotlight on our youth

Congratulations to the winners of the 2023 Fairfield City Mayor’s Youth Achievement Awards announced at a special awards presentation last week.

The program acknowledges, recognises and celebrates the achievements of our young people in ten categories including leadership, sports impact and outstanding youth group categories.

It brings us great pleasure each year to recognise local young people making a difference through their demonstration of leadership, passion, commitment and enthusiasm.

By volunteering and leading significant projects in our community, young people are not only making a positive contribution, they are building essential skills and attributes for life.

Our young people are tomorrow’s leaders and innovators. It’s important we shine the light on their achievements to encourage them and show them that we are behind them.

They continue to achieve goals beyond their years and make us proud. I encourage each and every one of them to continue in their selected fields and am sure they will achieve great things.

Congratulations to all the nominees, highly commended placegetters and winners, keep up the good work in inspiring community pride and strengthening community life in Fairfield City. We look forward to hearing about what you do next!
