Council is spreading the joy of Easter with so many activities and events happening around the City for our residents to get involved in.

There will be special visits from the Easter Bunny at our city centres, library Easter craft activities, an Easter egg hunt in Canley Vale and a family Easter event at Thomas Ware Plaza in Fairfield City Centre with petting zoo, face painting, balloon bending, DJ, giveaways and more.

The popular Fairfield Easter Fair returns to Fairfield Showground from Thursday 28 March to Tuesday 2 April this year, making it easier for families to get out and enjoy the fun of the Sydney Royal Easter Show without the travel and high prices.

The six-day event boasts a jam-packed program including highwire motorbike shows, rides, showbags, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, fireworks each night and lots more. Keep the kids entertained with animal encounters, wood carving, pig racing and free circus shows and workshops. A $2 gold coin is all you need to get into this event, and you can pre-purchase unlimited ride wristbands online at a discounted price of $27.50 (or $35 at the gate). Best of all, parking is free. The ‘Kids Big Day Out’ on Tuesday 2 April will see the first 500 kids at the Fair receive a free plush toy and even better, all rides will be $2 all day.

This year we are also brightening up the streets for Easter, with lights and decorations at 14 locations across the City. The lights will be installed at Abbotsbury, Canley Vale, Fairfield, Lansvale, Smithfield, Mt Pritchard, Prairiewood, St Johns Park, Wetherill Park and Yennora.

I would like to wish our Fairfield community a very Happy Easter and I hope to see you out and about celebrating with your families.
