About the organisation: 

Sydney Helping Angels Inc is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need throughout our wider community.

Every Wednesday, our amazing volunteers come together to sort, organise and prepare free food hampers for people experiencing financial hardship and difficult circumstances.

Alongside our food hampers, we also provide free clothing, homewares and other essential items generously donated by our supporters.

We assist a wide range of people in our community, including:

  • Low-income individuals and families
  • Families experiencing financial hardship
  • Schools and community organisations
  • People escaping domestic violence
  • Refugees and people starting a new life in Australia
  • Anyone experiencing hardship or in need of support

Our support extends beyond food and material assistance. Where possible, we also provide case management, resume assistance and support with finding employment, helping people take positive steps towards greater stability and independence.

 

Position Description: 

We are looking for a reliable and caring Hampers Organiser to help our team every Tuesday and Wednesday.

The role involves helping to:

  • Sort and organise donated food and other products
  • Check and prepare items for distribution
  • Pack and assemble food hampers
  • Keep the hamper area organised and tidy
  • Work alongside our wonderful team of volunteers
  • Help ensure hampers are ready for collection on the same day
  • Assist with creating a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone accessing our services
