You would remember that we had to cancel our New Year’s Eve Illuminate event last year. Well I am pleased to announce that later this month we will be holding ‘Re-Illuminate’ at Fairfield Showground with all the fun and excitement of the New Year’s Eve event; including music, rides, food, carnival games and the fireworks finale.

‘Re-Illuminate’ will be held on Sunday 27 June, in the school holidays, from 4.30pm-8.30pm at Fairfield Showground. It is a free event but has a $3 booking fee to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to attend.

The program promises to deliver next-level family fun; with the return of the popular jet pack show, stilt walkers and other roaming entertainment, cultural group performances including lion dancers and drummers, show cars, DJ and of course, a spectacular fireworks finale. As it is a winter event, make sure you are rugged up and ready to enjoy winter warmer treats like hot chocolate with marshmallows and roasted chestnuts.

Council has put all the measures in place to ensure a COVID safe event. You can bring a picnic rug or use the grandstand seating, and you can bring your own food or buy it at the event.

Tickets for our special mid-year celebration will be released for local residents on Tuesday 8 June from 10am. We are giving Fairfield City residents the first opportunity to take advantage of this pre-sale offer before they are released to the general public.

Ticket numbers are capped and our regular Illuminate celebrations always sell out, so I encourage you to get in early and secure your tickets (tickets are free with a $3 per person booking fee) through Council’s website at fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/reilluminate.

Re-Illuminate will be a celebration of our community and our City’s achievements over the last 18 months, and I look forward to joining you in what promises to be a fun filled night for the whole family.
