I invite Fairfield City residents to once again take the opportunity to dispose of unwanted bulky household items for free during Council’s Spring Clean Drop-off Day at Fairfield Showground Sunday, 13 October, 7am-3.30pm.
We want to reduce illegal dumping on our streets by offering this extra service that is additional to our kerbside collections, recycling service and chemical drop-off days. We recognise that fees for the tip can be expensive so we have introduced a range of ways you can dispose of rubbish the right way, for free. The Spring Clean, in its third year this year, was put in place to help you remove old and unused bulky waste items around your home, free of charge. I encourage you to load up your boot or trailer with items such as household furniture, small kitchen appliances and general garden waste and take them to Fairfield Showground. Last year almost 1,000 residents dropped off more than 80 tonnes of bulky waste, which helped to reduce litter and dumped rubbish on our streets. Our City belongs to all of us. We have a responsibility to work together to keep our streets clean. That’s why Council has put on these extra services to help keep our City clean. A pamphlet will be in your letterbox with information about the Spring Clean Drop-off Day. You can also visit www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/springclean for more details or contact us on 9725 0222.
