This Sunday we pay tribute to the generations of special women in our City who give unconditionally to support and guide their children and grandchildren.

Mothers, grandmothers and carers share an unbreakable bond with their children, and we owe them so much as sons, daughters and as a community.

Mother's Day gives us an opportunity to celebrate these extraordinary women who are caretakers, mentors, and providers who have moulded us into who we are.

To celebrate all the mothers in our City, Council has arranged several activities throughout the week.

There will be roaming entertainment in Fairfield today, at Ware, Spencer and Smart streets, including Thomas Ware Plaza, from 11am – 2pm. All mothers will receive a flower – look out for the piano accordion and flute duo!

The Good Fairies will be handing out chocolate hearts to mothers tomorrow from 10am – 12pm at Canley Vale Town Centre, and 1pm – 3pm at Canley Heights Town Centre. They will also be at Cabramatta Town Centre on Friday from 10am – 1pm.

If you're looking for something special to do with your mum this Sunday, you could take her out to one of our beautiful locations in Fairfield City. Pack a picnic lunch and head to Western Sydney Parklands, head to Calmsley Hill City Farm or one of the many parks in the area. For the more adventurous mums, TreeTops Adventure Park or Fairfield Adventure Park is the perfect place to get outdoors and be active. Or take Mum to one of the many amazing restaurants across the City, celebrating every imaginable cuisine.

I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends recognising the most important women in our lives.

Happy Mother's Day!
