Christmas is a special time of the year that I look forward to most– as a celebration that the whole community can enjoy.

Next Wednesday 1 November 2023 I will be launching the ‘Mayor’s Christmas Appeal’ to help make Christmas a bit brighter for families and individuals experiencing hardship, and I encourage you to give what you can, however big or small.

Families have been doing it tough, and the need for support is greater than ever. Christmas is a time of giving, by donating to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal you are contributing to making Christmas a positive experience for families and individuals in need. I know the community of Fairfield is very generous and have always stepped up to support others when required.

Donations can include non-perishable food items or new and unwrapped toys; and can be dropped off at our Bonnyrigg, Fairfield, Wetherill Park and Whitlam Cabramatta library branches, or at Woolworths stores in Bonnyrigg, Cabramatta, Cecil Hills, Fairfield, Fairfield Heights, Green Valley, Greystanes, Pemulwuy, Toongabbie, Wentworthville and Wetherill Park.

Council will work with non-government organisations and charities to package and distribute the donations to families and individuals in need in time for Christmas.

A kind gesture can go a long way and I know the Fairfield community will donate to our Appeal and make this a memorable and meaningful Christmas for everyone.
