More convenient waste collection

I’m excited to announce that from June residents will be able to choose when to receive their free twice-a-year bulky waste kerbside pick-ups.

Households will be able to go online 24/7 to book their collection, when they want it and when they need it.

Our kerbside collection service allows residents to dispose of the bulky goods that won’t fit in the normal residential bins without having to pay tip fees. It helps ensure waste is disposed of properly and doesn’t end up in the environment or as illegal dumping.

We expect this service to be very popular, so I encourage you to plan ahead and book early to find an available date that suits you and takes the best advantage of your two annual collections.

The more convenient improved kerbside pick-up is just one of a suite of services Council provides to make it easy for residents to keep their homes and the City clean.

Apart from the regular weekly and fortnightly waste and recycling collection, Council also holds a free annual bulky waste drop off day (25 July 2021), as well as a free e-waste and chemical waste drop-off day at Fairfield Showground in August, and an additional recycling collection over the Christmas period.

We also give ratepayers a free voucher with their July rates notice each year to dispose of their green waste, and open our Recycling Drop Off Centre every Saturday for residents to dispose of waste that can be recycled.

Our City belongs to all of us. We have a responsibility to work together to keep our streets clean. That’s why Council provides these extra services to help keep our City clean and waste out of the environment.
