Christmas is a very important time for Fairfield City residents, and it is a celebration we want the whole community to take part in.

We want you to join us in spreading the Christmas spirit by decorating and lighting up your homes and entering our Light Up Christmas Facebook Competition. Take a photo of your home in lights and share it with us between Tuesday 14 November and Wednesday 13 December 2023. Submissions require your address, full name and contact number. Not only are there exciting prizes to be won, you will also be spreading Christmas joy to your streets and neighbourhoods. Seeing houses all lit up, spreading Christmas cheer throughout the neighbourhood is one of my favourite parts of the holiday season. I love driving around in December to see the amazing displays and I can’t wait to see this year’s homes in lights.

Council’s popular Christmas lights will be returning to roundabouts and intersections from 1 December 2023. The displays were so well received in the past that we have increased the number of intersections with Christmas lights from 17 to 20. The lights look amazing at night, making the evening trip home a little more joyous.

You can also spread cheer to less fortunate families by donating to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal at all Fairfield City Open Libraries branches and selected Woolworths stores. Donations can include non-perishable food items or new and unwrapped toys and will be accepted until 15 December 2023.
