Council continues to invest in our City’s young people and give them ample opportunity to learn, have fun and connect with the community, helping them to do their very best in life.
Two years ago I opened Council’s modern $8.5 million Fairfield Youth and Community Centre, a huge asset to our City’s youth and families.
We offer a free Open Day at the Centre on the first Sunday of each month, from 11am to 4pm, to ensure children and families can make the most of our state-of-the-art facility.
I’m now pleased to announce that Council has introduced an affordable hire rate of $50 for not-for-profit community organisations, so long as their planned activities focus on young people. These could include anything from sports games to providing training for our City’s future leaders.
Visitors can enjoy multi-sports courts, a Chill zone, a rock climbing wall, inbuilt trampolines and program rooms. The Centre is fully accessible and features ramps, accessible parking and restrooms, which means it’s another positive investment in our City that’s open to everyone.
The Fairfield Youth and Community Centre is part of the best family-friendly and youth precinct in South West Sydney – Fairfield Park, which contains our iconic Adventure Park, Obstacle Course and Fairfield Leisure Centre.
Fairfield Adventure Park Precinct is a popular, family friendly recreational destination which draws crowds from across Fairfield City and further afield – and is less than ten minutes’ walk from Fairfield railway station.
Fairfield Youth and Community Centre can be hired out by the community, including schools, community organisations, sporting groups and for private bookings.
