Pesticide-herbicide application to sportfields

Weeds being sprayed with pesticide-herbicide

Fairfield City Council will be spraying herbicide to control broad leaf weeds on the playing surface of its sports fields.

Council staff will be spraying sports fields with one application of Destiny herbicide between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday.

This Program will commence 30 July and conclude 30 August.

All chemicals used are registered for this use by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority.

The public is advised not to use the playing fields while spraying is being done and for at least one hour after application.

Spraying for broad leaf weeds will be undertaken on the playing surface of the following sports fields:

  • Emerson Park, Wetherill Park
  • Endeavour Park, Fairfield West
  • Fairfield Park, Fairfield
  • Hartley’s Oval, Canley Vale
  • Irelands Bridge Reserve, Lansvale
  • Joe Broad Park, Mount Pritchard
  • King Park, Wakeley
  • Knight Park, Yennora
  • Lalich Park, Mt Pritchard

The following off leash dog parks will be sprayed on the 30th July 2019 with Casper herbicide.

The Park will be closed for the day while the spraying takes place.

The off leash parks will be back open for normal use next day.
