When it comes to finding the best value school holiday activities, Fairfield City Council has you covered.

Keep the kids entertained with an exciting range of activities at Fairfield City Open Libraries branches, Fairfield City Museum & Gallery, Fairfield Youth and Community Centre and Fairfield City Leisure Centres this summer. There is lots happening for children and young people to burn their energy, continue learning, and keep up their creativity during the school break.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone is encouraging parents and carers to take advantage of the affordable variety of activities on offer.

“Council is delivering a wide range of fun and interesting activities and workshops to keep children active in mind and body,” Mayor Carbone said.

“Whether your child is curious, creative or sporty – I guarantee you will find an activity for all interests spanning across our sites. Register now to avoid disappointment.”

Registrations are essential for most activities and details can be found below. Places may be capped so register early.

Mayor’s Summer Holiday Program
Ages: 0-4 years and 5-13 years

Join an exciting reading program through the holiday season to maintain and improve children’s reading skills while school is out. Simply visit your local library to register and collect your Mayor’s Summer Holiday Program reading passport! Each child must register using their own library card (membership is free).

Christmas Preschool Storytime

Ages: 3+ years

Celebrate the festival season with a special Christmas storytime session with lots of stories, songs and craft.

Lion Dance Workshop

Taronga Zoomobile – Animals of the Dreaming Show

Ages: 3+ years

Hear stories and songs about animals from the dreaming as told by Aboriginal Elder Col Hardy. This event delivers an engaging experience of storytelling, music and encounters with native Australian animals, such as a frog, lizard, turtle, possum and echidna.

Active Kids School Holiday Program

Fairfield Leisure Centre and Fairfield Youth and Community Centre

Children aged 5-12 years will have a blast at the Active Kids School Holiday program from 9-25 January (excluding weekends). Sessions run from 8am-4pm daily and incorporate a variety of physical activities to allow children to learn new skills, make friends, improve their confidence and stay active. Prices are $55 per child, per day.

Learn to Swim Holiday Program

Private lessons and intensive class programs are available from 3-6 January, 9-13 January, 16-20 January and 23-27 January (excluding 26 January) at Cabravale, Fairfield and Prairiewood leisure centres. Classes are $82.50 per 5-day week; $66 per 4-day week and $32 per private lesson.

Get ready for another bumper season at Fairfield City’s hottest attraction Aquatopia! With the 55m heated wave pool, 20-metre race slides, Adventure Aqua Tower and toddler pool, Aquatopia is the go-to-place this summer.

Prices start at $16 per person or $59 for a family pass for Fairfield City residents. Aquatopia is open every day during the school holidays except Christmas Day.
