Council at its meeting held on 9/9/2025 resolved to propose the name of a new local road that was created through the subdivision of 615 Cabramatta Rd West Cabramatta West.
The location of the road is shown below.

Reason for Proposal: An application for a road name has been lodged with Council for the Cabramatta West area. The new road proposed on the application is Scholar Place Cabramatta West.
The applicant has sought the new road to be named Taleb Place. An Arabic word which means ‘to seek knowledge’ and so broadly translates as ‘scholar’ or ‘student’ in English.
The name is meant to honour no specific person but the Taleb family, who have made significant contributions in the fields of business, construction, medicine, law, teaching and community service.
All interested persons are invited to make submissions concerning the proposal to the General Manager, Fairfield City Council, Post Office Box 21 Fairfield NSW 1860, within thirty (30) days of the date of this advertisement. Once the submission period is completed, Fairfield City Council will consider all duly made submissions before deciding whether to continue with the proposed road naming.
