Fairfield City Women’s Day Award nominations opening soon
Published on 19 October 2022
Do you know an inspirational woman who is successful in her chosen career? Nominations for the 2023 Fairfield City Women’s Day Award open on Monday 31 October 2022, and I can’t wait to hear about the league of talented career women hailing from our City.
Every year, Council celebrates International Women’s Day with the Fairfield City Women’s Day Award program, which recognises local women that champion excellence in business and leadership in their careers, and influence and inspire others.
Past winners include exceptionally talented business leaders whose career paths and individual achievements and resilience continue to inspire us all.
I recently caught up with 2022 winner Lorraine Salloum, who holds the position of People, Performance and Culture Executive at Achieve Australia - one of the biggest disability service providers in Australia. In her personal life she is an autism advocate, well known in the community for her charity work, events and advocacy for autism awareness and inclusion. She is a mother of two daughters – one with severe autism, and she runs an autism awareness and support group for parents of children with autism ensuring that they get the support they need.
Do you know someone like Lorraine? I know that there are more female success stories – just like Lorraine’s – in our City, and the Fairfield City Women’s Day Award provides a platform for recognising and honouring these exceptional entrepreneurs, leaders and innovators making a difference in our community.
Recognising local women in leadership encourages ambition, empowers confidence and inspires new leaders now and in the future.
If you know of a colleague, friend or family member that fits the profile of the Fairfield City Women’s Day Award, I look forward to hearing from you. Nominations close Friday 17 February 2023.
