Staying fit, healthy and active is not only important for our physical health but also our mental health. This is especially important in these challenging times. Council is continuing to invest millions of dollars to improve open spaces for the community to ensure you and your families have opportunities to be fit and healthy.

You can go for a walk, jog or cycle on any of our 90 km of shared paths, exercise at one of our 22 outdoor fitness equipment locations that also have circuit paths, or take the pooch for a run at one of our five off-leash dog parks across the City.

We also continue to light up 18 sportsfields across the City until 8pm to allow you to exercise that little bit later into the evening.

Of course, when you are outside please follow all Public Health Orders – no more than two people from different households together, do not go more than 5kms from your home and your outdoor activity should be for exercise only, not recreation.

For more information on locations within a short walk or drive from your home visit:

No matter where you live in our City, there is a park or sportsfield within a short distance of your home for you and your family to stay healthy both physically and mentally during lockdown.
