Spring Clean Drop-Off Day

This Sunday we are once again holding our popular FREE Spring Clean Drop-Off Day at Fairfield Showground from 7am to 3pm.

Last year an incredible 1000 residents dropped off about 100 tonnes of bulky waste, which helped us to reduce litter and dumped rubbish on our streets. This year is the fourth year we have held this drop-off day and we hope to see an even bigger turnout this year.

I invite Fairfield City residents to take this opportunity to dispose of unwanted bulky household items. Fairfield Showground is centrally located, easy to access with plenty of parking.

Council recognises that tip fees can be really expensive for families, especially in these difficult times. That’s why we are holding this free drop-off day, which is additional to our kerbside collections, recycling service and chemical drop-off day. Council pays for these services with our waste levy, and are great examples of how we put your rates to work.

I encourage you to load up your boot or trailer with items such as household furniture, small kitchen appliances and general garden waste and take advantage of this service. Please transport your waste carefully, remain in your vehicle at the collection site and be mindful to follow social distancing.

Our City belongs to all of us and we should be proud of where we live. We have a responsibility to work together to keep our streets clean and reduce illegal dumping. I look forward to seeing everyone down at Fairfield Showground this Sunday.
