Driving Mentor

Position Description:
The Drive Time Mentor Volunteer provides supervised driving practice to selected refugee clients. All driving practice occurs in an insured automatic vehicle.
The objectives of the program are: Improve road safety outcomes supporting driver licensing disadvantaged communities to meet the Graduated Licensing Scheme (GLS) requirements, leading to reduced crash and injury rates.
Volunteers must:
- Have not had an at fault accident in the previous two years
- Have minimum of 3 years safe driving record

Volunteer English Tutor
Organisation: Navitas
Time Commitment: Ongoing availability. Once a week (Monday-Sunday). Flexible.
Position Description:
Tutors offer informal English language tuition to new migrants and refugees. The AMEP Volunteer Tutor Scheme helps migrants and refugees who are unable to attend AMEP English classes or who require additional learning support, with one on one lessons for 1 hour per week, face to face (online during Covid). Anyone can become a volunteer tutor, even if you’re not a native English speaker. Lesson times are flexible depending on your availability. (AMEP is funded by the Department of Home Affairs).

Animal Assisted Volunteer

Fire Fighter

- NSW RFS Brigade Member: trained as a Firefighter to fight fires and attend other emergency incidents in Rural Fire Districts.
