Does your creative or cultural community group need help applying for Council’s Creative Communities Grant (formerly Social Change through Creativity Grant)? Registrations are now open for workshops to assist applicants in developing the skills to create winning grant applications.

The free workshops are designed to teach community development approaches to program delivery; including developing an idea into a grant project, devising a budget, and basic project management skills.

The Creative Communities Grant program is an opportunity for not-for-profit creative groups or cultural and community organisations to apply for one-off grants of up to $5,000 to deliver projects that address community issues and improve the wellbeing of Fairfield City residents in unique and creative ways. Below are some examples of projects funded in 2021:

Project: All Women's Circle

A series of weekly creative workshops led by an artist facilitator in collaboration with local Arabic and Assyrian-speaking women to drive and develop creative solutions to self-identified problems.

Project: We Are a Masterpiece: a creative message of unity

A collaborative project inviting young people with a refugee experience to co-design and create a mural that considers unity to bring about social change.

Project: Supporting People with Disability through Creative Ceramics

Residents with life-long disability and high support needs worked with a ceramic artist to explore stories and culture through clay.

2022 grant applications open 1 March and close 31 March 2022.
