Household Battery & Mobile Phone Recycling

Residents can now safely and responsibly dispose of their used household batteries and mobile phones at a number of Council facilities.

Household batteries can be safely disposed of at the following locations:

  • Administration Centre – 86 Avoca Road, Wakeley
  • Bonnyrigg Library – 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg
  • Cabravale Leisure Centre – 30 Broomfield Street, Cabramatta
  • Fairfield Leisure Centre – 44 Vine Street, Fairfield
  • Fairfield Library – 1-3 Hamilton Road, Fairfield 
  • Prairiewood Leisure Centre – Cnr Prairie Vale and Moonlight roads, Prairiewood
  • Smithfield Community Library – 51-57 Oxford Street, Smithfield
  • Wetherill Park Library – 561-583 Polding Street, Wetherill Park
  • Whitlam Library Cabramatta – 165 Railway Parade, Cabramatta

Car batteries will not be accepted at these locations but can be taken to Council’s Recycling Drop Off Centre on Cnr Davis and Widemere Roads, Wetherill Park on Saturdays, 8:30am-3:30pm.

Mobile phones can be safely disposed of at the following locations:

  • Administration Centre – 86 Avoca Road, Wakeley
  • Recycling Drop Off Centre - Cnr Davis and Widemere Roads, Wetherill Park (Saturdays 8.30am-3.30pm)

It is important not to throw these items into your bins as they contain hazardous metals and chemicals that are bad for the environment and human health.
