Spring into clearing household clutter

Published on 21 September 2022

Now is the time for you to do a spring clean of all the bulky household waste you no longer want and dispose of it at our FREE Spring Clean Drop-off event at Fairfield Showground this Sunday between 7am and 3.30pm.

This offer is only available to Fairfield City residents. No matter where you live in our City, I encourage you to take the opportunity to get rid of those unwanted goods – old furniture, electrical items such as TVs, fridges and computers, as well as bundled, tied or bagged garden waste.

Load them up in your trailer and in your car and bring them down to Fairfield Showground and Council will dispose of them at no charge to you, helping you save on tip costs. You don’t even have to get out of your car because our staff will unload all your items for you. At the last Spring Clean Drop-off event, more than 1,100 cars came through and we disposed of hundreds of tons of unwanted goods.

The popular annual Spring Clean initiative is another service we provide to make sure we can keep our City clean.

In addition to this, each household also receives two kerbside pick-ups a year for free. You can plan ahead and book them now. Simply go to www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/kerbsidecleanup and search for an available day in your area that’s suitable and convenient for you.

Also free of charge, residents can dispose of recyclable waste, such as televisions, computers, kitchen appliances, gas cylinders and white goods at our Recycling Drop-off Centre on the corner of Widemere and Davis roads, Wetherill Park, open every Saturday, 8am-3.30pm. You can also drop off your garden waste for a small fee, or for free, if you use the Green Voucher that came on your July rate notice.

Let’s continue to work together to keep our City clean.
