Tips for a good resume

A resume (sometimes called a CV) can be hard to write for some people, especially when you don’t know where to start. Resume writing can take time and what makes a “good” resume can depend on the job you are applying for. The WYSC suggest tailoring your resume for each job you’re applying for – so a resume for working at a café should look different from a resume for working in a warehouse.

Some first-time job seekers can also find it hard to add experience to their resume. If you don’t have a lot of paid work experience, we’d recommend showing your skills in other ways, like listing any volunteering roles and what skills you may have used for them.
