Fairfield City Open Libraries provides a special Home Library service, Council services, form filling assistance, and Justice of the Peace (JP) services. 

Please see below for more information on each service.

Home Library Service

You may be eligible for free Home Library Service if you live in the Fairfield area and are unable to visit a library due to:

  • Frailty
  • Long term illness
  • Disability
  • You do not have anyone to visit on your behalf

People with short term incapacity may also be eligible. 

Books, audiobooks and other library resources are selected for you, and delivered to and collected from your home or your retirement village on a monthly basis.

Form Filling Assistance

This service is temporarily unavailable.

Do you need help filling out forms such as Centrelink, passport and rental applications?

We can provide a one-on-one session between you and a library staff member that will help you to fill out forms such as Centrelink, passport and rental applications. Please note advice is not provided.

This service is available at Whitlam Library Cabramatta, 9.30am-5.00pm.

Booking is required.

Meeting Rooms

This service is temporarily unavailable.

Open Libraries has a range of rooms available for public hire. 
Fairfield Library meeting room is not available from 31 March 2020 until further notice.

Council Services

This service is temporarily unavailable at all libraries. Please visit Council's administration centre at 86 Avoca Road Wakeley, NSW 2176. 

Council Services are available Monday-Friday from 9.30am-4.30pm at all our libraries except for Smithfield Community Library. 

Some examples of Council services include:

  • General enquiries
  • Pay Council rates
  • Dog or cat registrations
  • Report a problem, such as trees, footpath and storm water
  • Waste enquiries, such as missed services or bin repairs
  • Application forms for tree permits or driveways
  • Apply for planning certificates

Development Applications need to be made at Council's Administration Centre, 86 Avoca Road, Wakeley NSW 2176.

Payment can be made by EFTPOS, cheque or money order, no cash will be accepted.
