From acorns, mighty oaks regrow Published on 19 June 2025 Earlier this month marked a proud moment for our community. Two new saplings were planted at Wetherill Park Nature Reserve, grown from the acorns of our iconic Bland’s Oak Tree. Located in Oakdene Park, Carramar, was planted in 1842 by Dr William Bland. His oak grew to be the largest tree in Australia!These young trees, nurtured by our Fairfield Community Nursery from Bland’s Oak acorns.
Extend The Horsley Drive upgrade Published on 05 June 2025 Every day, thousands of commuters rely on The Horsley Drive to get to work, school, and essential services. It is one of the most heavily used roads in our City and it desperately needs an upgrade.Recently, the State Government announced that some long-awaited upgrades to The Horsley Drive will begin. While we welcome any progress, this partial upgrade falls short of what our City truly needs.
