Fairfield City Council is introducing a new green bin service for your food and organic waste.

The new green bins and kitchen caddies will arrive at all houses, duplexes, and townhouses in the next few weeks, but the service won’t start until 3 June 2024.

Inside your bins you’ll receive important information about the new fortnightly FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) service and some goodies including:

  • A roll of 150 compostable liners to use in your kitchen caddy
  • Waste calendar with FOGO and recycling collection details
  • 3 stickers to place on your bins to help with sorting your waste correctly
  • A sample of 80L compostable bags for grass clippings

Remember, don’t start using your green bin until collections start in June, refer to your waste calendar. Free refills for your compostable bags and liners will be available after the service starts for pick up at Council’s admin building and Fairfield City Leisure Centres.
