THE POSITION: Fairfield City Council’s Infrastructure Sevices Division is looking for highly motivated professional trade’s individual to join our team as a Licensed Plumber. You will utilise your qualifications and skills to carry out preventive, corrective and planned plumbing maintenance on domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing assets. You will be responsible for maintaining Councils plumbing equipment and infrastructure to required standards and regulations. To be successful you will require relevant industry experience and a desire to complete tasks thoroughly and safely.

ESSENTIAL: 

  • Plumber, Drainer, and Gas Fitter Trade Certificate
  • Plumbing Contractor License
  • WHS General Construction Induction Card (White card)
  • Working at heights
  • Drivers Licence Class C
  • Accreditation to install and maintain tempering valves, thermostatic mixing valves and back flow prevention devices

DESIRABLE:

  • Scissor Lift (EWP), backhoe, HIAB, crane chaser certificates
  • Confined space
  • MR licence or willingness to obtain
  • Restricted electrical licence
  • Certificate IV in Local Government or Management or equivalent experience
  • Scaffolding
  • Asbestos awareness and removal

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 76 hours per fortnight (9-day fortnight)
  • This position is a Grade E, salary range is $69,261 p.a. with progression to $74,583 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $81,126 p.a. plus 11% superannuation.
