Fairfield City Council encourages all grandparents and children to come and enjoy a day of free family fun at Council’s Grandparents Day event on Sunday 29 October.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said the day was an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the irreplaceable role grandparents played in families and the wider community.

“This annual event has become an increasingly unique and special day, bringing multiple family generations together for a fun family day out,” Mayor Carbone said.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to recognise and celebrate everything our grandparents have done for us, our families and our wider community.

“The skills, life experience and wisdom of our older residents are invaluable to younger members of the community and for our future. Thanks to the hard work of those who have gone before us, we continue to see improvements to our quality of life and even greater opportunities ahead.

“We continue to receive great feedback about our annual Grandparents Day and I encourage the community to attend this year’s event at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery, which will have activities and workshops that have been organised for all to enjoy.”

There will be a DJ, multiple Vintage Village tours and a performance by the Older Women’s Network Theatre Group. Children will enjoy a visit from Paw Patrol characters, a magic show and craft activities.
