Lion dancers, fireworks and a 10 metre long LED dragon will create a colourful and auspicious start to Lunar New Year Saturday 10 February in Canley Heights town centre.
The significant annual night time celebration is a must for local Lunar New Year enthusiasts, with Canley Heights coming alive with delicious food, live music and amusement rides.
Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said the event is a great opportunity for the whole community to come together and enjoy a street party atmosphere.
"The Canley Heights Lunar New Year has both cultural significance and an incredible atmosphere. It’s success comes from the community’s involvement in creating an event for the community."
The event is proudly supported by the Canley Heights Business Community and Canley Heights Restaurant Committee. Proceeds are donated to Pal Buddhist School.
Canley Heights Lunar New Year celebrations run Saturday 10 February 2018 from 4pm to 10pm. Canley Vale Road, Canley Heights will be closed from Peel Street to Salisbury Street from 7.45pm to approximately 9.45pm for the 9pm fireworks. The road closure is a necessary step to keep residents safe so they can enjoy the event atmosphere.
