Roadworks at major intersection
Published Tuesday, 3rd May 2016
Proposed road works at the intersection of Hamilton Road and the Cumberland Highway are about to start and will affect traffic around the area significantly.
The west-bound kerb side lane will be closed for about 6-8 weeks, starting from the middle of the week 9-13 May, 2016.
The work is one of the projects from the Australian Government’s $200 million Local Roads Package, which will deliver better roads for Western Sydney.
It involves installation of right turn bays, relocation of affected services and changes to traffic control signals.
Alternative routes to Hamilton Road that can be used are Polding Street/Smithfield road via Rawson Road, and Thorney Road via Maud Street.
